About us

St Stephen's is a friendly and welcoming church in the village of East Hardwick, a few miles south of  Pontefract in West Yorkshire.

Our church is located in the heart of the village and is also the spiritual heart of the small community.

Who's Who?

Our Patron Saint, Stephen, was a Deacon of the early church and was the first Christian martyr.  He was stoned to death after being accused of blasphemy, because he declared that he saw the heavens opened and Jesus standing at the right hand of God (Acts 7:56)
