St Stephen's Church is located within the Wakefield Area of the Anglican Diocese of Leeds. Our Bishops The Rt Revds Nick Baines (Leeds) and Tony Robinson (Wakefield), and the Archdeacon of Pontefact, Rev Canon Cat Thatcher, work closely with our local clergy and churches.

Our church has a special connection with our link Diocese of Mara in Tanzania. The people of Mara, especially the village of Nyamaseki and the secondary school in Issenye are regularly included in our prayers and we look forward to hearing news about the projects which are being undertaken in this particular area of Africa.
