Rain didn't stop play!

Despite the rain, a brave group of friends and neighbours came along with brollies to enjoy the Garden Party hosted by Anne and Tom Dyer. We had the usual stalls - plants, tombola, cakes, books and jigsaws and refreshments. Our summer raffle tickets were also on sale and the raffle was drawn at the end of the afternoon. Strawberry scones and tea were a great favourite and, although we couldn't sit out on the lawn, there was enough space under the gazebos to keep dry and enjoy chatting with friends. An amazing £1000 was raised and the raffle also made an additional £505. All funds were for our roof and building repairs. Our thanks go to Anne and Tom and their family and friends for hosting and organising the event and to all those who helped run the stalls, set up, clear away and all the other jobs that needed to be done. Most of all we thank everyone who came along to support us. We really appreciate your continued generosity towards our village church.
